Cara Reck and Crystal Spring are the co-founders of Smiles Across Montana (SAM). SAM is nonprofit organization that brings preventative dental care to rural areas of Montana, currently focused on schools. There are five dental hygienists and four dentists who travel all over the state; they are bringing the dental office to the school with their mobile equipment.
The work that SAM does is amazing and a great public service to the community. SAM was created by two amazingly dedicated women driven by their passion to serve. These two entrepreneurs are paving the path for success by going after their dreams and crushing their goals through hard work and perseverance. However, stepping outside of their comfort zone is no small feat. They're a force to be reckoned with and the work that Cara and Crystal are doing is an inspiration to working women everywhere.
Cara is a graduate from Montana State University-Great Falls with an associate degree in dental hygiene. She worked in private practice for 5 years and then started contracting with the Fort Peck Reservation’s Health Promotion Disease Prevention Program in the school based clinics. This is where the idea of SAM came from. She now works full time for SAM and is traveling approximately 2 weeks a month. When she isn’t traveling she is at home with her 2 boys (Sawyer-2, Stetson-8) and husband, Cody.
